We’ve watched Takarazuka Revue on our recent Japan trip and my oh my, it was absolutely a lesbian fest. Super hot girls dressed as impossibly hot and beautiful men (bishounen) kissing other super hot girls in squeaky voices, and in a full-pledged theater too!
For those who are not aware, Takarazuka Revue is a theater group based in Takarazuka, Kansai, Japan, where the cast is all female. Females act as lean, tall, impeccably dressed men complete with kissing scenes with their costars. The fan base is almost 90% female, and most are composed of young girls or matronly women, all straining their necks just to get a glimpse of the best Takarazuka stars. If that’s not lesbian manifestation for you, I don’t know what is. Here are some samples of Takarazuka plays for you:
And here are some more Takarazuka yummy lesbian videos, featuring some kissing scenes:
So now that I’ve got you interested, here comes the biggest question:
Are the Takarazuka cast of girls really lesbian?
Unfortunately, we may never know. Technically they are not, they have been trained since childhood to move the way men do in order to become convincing and inspire lesbian conspiracies like this blog post. However, we do have some hints of gay action somewhere:
1. They were forbidden to interact with fans. Why do this if there wasn’t any danger of actually engaging in action? *hint hint*
2. There was a Takarazuka lesbian couple affair discovered some time ago. Since this is extremely regulated against, they got fired.
3. It’s just impossible to be all over each other on stage and not be all over each other off the stage.
Well, there goes my very scientific arguments that will surely convince you *nods seriously*.
