Straight people doing lesbian camera poses… what???

A couple of nights ago I partied with the straight people. Now, for most of you that might not exactly be unusual, but for the past years I’ve sort of developed a company of straight people by day, gay people by night type of lifestyle.

Normally, that wouldn’t be a problem. I can hang with the straights.

Except when the camera starts flashing. You see, when somebody whips out the camera, I automatically pull out the lesbian card and whip out my lesbian poses.

Lesbian Liar Caught!

Posted by Lesfriendly.com - The lesbian blog | Posted in Advertising, Lesfriendly, Rocket Science, Survival | Posted on 16-01-2010

I’m not good at lying. So if you catch a lesbian lying, that would probably be me. You can easily tell little lying lesbian me is not telling the truth when I either:

a. Avert my eyes while speaking. There’s scientific research somewhere that says women tend to look left when inventing a story, seeking their more creative right brain
b. Sound specially excited. “You’re movie was soooo great! Specially the part where, uh, at the end…” (mentally banging head against wall for stupid statement)

Not a Lesbian Anymore?

Posted by Lesfriendly.com - The lesbian blog | Posted in Gay Issues, Lesfriendly | Posted on 10-01-2010

I’ve realized something. I’m not lesbian anymore.

I’ve never had a problem with labels until I realized that I was not comfortable with the term “lesbian” anymore.

It suddenly feels constricting. Don’t get me wrong – I’m definitely not going straight anymore. However, being “lesbian” in the essence of the word isn’t comforting anymore.

Japanese Anime Yaoi and Yuri Fanfiction

It’s the holidays and I’m just stuck at home with nothing better to do than to fall back into my old high school habit of… reading japanese anime fanfiction. No, in fact, CONSUMING it. I’ve in fact written some of my own but I totally forgot where I’ve put them already. But the remaining ones online written by other wonderful writers are sooo good in their mushy, sentimental, steamy and oftentimes overly-descriptive way that I’ve found myself addicted once again.

Have you ever had the weirdest interaction with an ex that you absolutely didn’t want to see?

I certainly hadn’t. No sir, lucky me. Except for one instance. Okay, okay. It was absolutely the worst day of my life.

There was a period in my life where I had a boyfriend (iwww) for a couple of years. He offered distraction at a time I was heartbroken over my previous 2 girlfriends, and I was in a period in my life when I thought I was ready to swear girls off.

New Year, New Look

Okay, first of all let me explain what happened. I know, I know – I’ve been away for more than a month. And for those of you loyal readers, you may have had trouble accessing the blog some time over the past month. WHY?

First, I took a well-deserved break with girlfriend to the land of yuri, yaoi, lemon and lesbian-hotness-comes-to-life Takarazuka – Japan (girlfriend is half-japanese, BTW)! For 2 weeks, we totally went 1900s and disconnected from the world – no internet, no mobile phone, no blogging – and just inhaled the culture (albeit an expensive one). To spite you all and make you jealous, here are some photos:

On LGBT Rejection in the Philippines: An International Plea for Help

Lesfriendly.com news:

November 13, 2009
The facts

In a decision made by the Philippines’ Commission on Elections, the bid for the Philippines’ LGBT party Ang Ladlad to run for a Congress seat for the upcoming 2010 elections was rejected due to grounds of “immorality as stated by the Koran and the Bible”, and as “being a threat to the youth”.

In the resolution, COMELEC and its commissioners cited passages from the Bible – Romans 1:26-27 – and the Koran to illustrate their point.

Romans 1:26-27 reads: “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature. And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.”

Furthermore, the petition stated that

The Lesbian Sorry

5

Posted by Lesfriendly.com - The lesbian blog | Posted in Lesfriendly | Posted on 11-09-2009

Is it harder to say sorry to lesbian than it is to a heterosexual partner?

When apologizing with a basket of flowers and chocolates does not work anymore, how do you say sorry to a lesbian friend? Or even a lesbian partner?

I am extremely terrible at this. Saying sorry to a male friend is giving me the chills (it’s not really a pride thing, but an embarrassment-that-i-have-to-say-sorry-because-i-screwed-up thing), and they say most guys forget about it the next day. Saying sorry to a female friend is going to cause me a fitful night without sleep.

Can anyone resist this apology?

Yuri Video: Lesbian Dance in School Rumble

1

Posted by Lesfriendly.com - The lesbian blog | Posted in Lesfriendly | Posted on 09-09-2009

Yuri refers to love between women in Japanese media

Imagine spending a lazy Sunday video morning flipping through channels and then stopping at a local Japanese anime cartoon that looked funny enough.

The title  is “School Rumble” – a funny-enough series I’ve been following almost regularly, or whenever I can.

This specific episode was interesting enough – it was mid-episode and the characters appeared to be in a play – a blonde girl playing a prince and a dark-haired girl playing a sorcerer. They were fighting over the kiss of “Sleeping Beauty” – who we see is a man in a dress.

In any case, fast forward, the sorcerer wins and is about to kiss Sleeping Beauty when suddenly a spy drops from the sky and kisses guy in a dress. The crowd cheers, “Spy is so handsome!”

Only, the spy is a girl. What? Sounds like a yuri remark. Can I really be hearing this from a Sunday morning cartoon?

To top the cream with cherry, in the party celebrating the play afterwards, we find the blonde “prince” asking the sorcerer for a dance, and we find the sorcerer blushing and complimenting the prince on how good a dancer she was. The dance was shot ala Beauty and the Beast – rotating cameras, roses all around, romantic music, twinkling lights background. In the end, we see their faces together, ready for a kiss.

!!!!!!!!!!!

If only I knew early Sunday morning cartoons is this homo-friendly, with actual yuri video scenes, I’d have woken up earlier every Sunday before and drooled at such scenes!

You can watch the video yourself. The juicy yuri scene is on the three-minute mark up til the end:

I’m not elaborating on details about the cartoon but you can learn more about School Rumble here. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear to have any yuri or lesbian reference other than this.

Lesbians in a Car

Isn’t being in a car with a bunch of lesbians just thrilling?

There’s a sort-of evolution within a lesbian group of friends that go through the phases of lesbian car-owning. I was reflecting on this just recently as my own lesbian gang started a road trip somewhere, and we were all in cars. Cool and dandy. Then I realized this hasn’t always been the case.

Road Tripping Lesbians

Not so long ago, we were a just bunch or cab-taking or car-pooling folk. But look at us now, huh?

The phases are as follows:
