Breaking News: California Supreme Court has upheld Proposition 8

I light a candle to the death of liberty in California and the shocking Prop 8 news.

Email forwarded by a dear fiend:

Dear XXX,

We just got word that the California Supreme Court has upheld Proposition 8 and allowed discrimination to be written into the California Constitution.

Despite the recent gains in Iowa, Vermont, and Maine, California will not become the sixth state to grant full marriage equality to same-sex couples. The only silver lining right now is that loving couples married before the Prop. 8 decision have been allowed to retain their marital status despite the ruling.

Worried Dad Seeks Advice from Lesbians

1

Posted by Lesfriendly.com - The lesbian blog | Posted in Family, Gay Issues | Posted on 25-04-2009

I usually hang around in forums and poke around on whats going on in the lesbian worlds all over. A moment ago, I came across a very peculiar thread.

The thread title was “Worried Dad seeks advice” – I felt a little curiosity bubble through and got the better of me, so I clicked.

Here were the worried dad’s exact words that greeted me:

Hi Ladies!

I am sorry for butting in I have a 33 year old daughter who has been married for 14 years and has provided me with two very lovely grandchildren. However, her marrage has never ‘ran smoothly’ and this week she confessed to me that she feels she was born into ‘the wrong body’ . I have had my suspicions about this since she was a teenager. She ‘came out’ this week, told me, her sister and husband, and she is absolutely heartbroked. Her hubby, at first, did not take it too well either – but for the moment – for the sake of the children – they will continue to live in the same house – but he hubby intends = in two or three months to find a place close by!

How can I help my daughter through this very difficicult times. Right now she needs a friend – a friend who understands what she is going through – I have suggested to her to seek advice on a forum such as this – but at this moment in time she will not – can you offer me some advice?

Psychiatrist “Treatment” – Shrinks Now Converting Gays to Straight?

2

Posted by Lesfriendly.com - The lesbian blog | Posted in Gay Issues, Medicine | Posted on 11-04-2009

Have you guys heard about this?

MSN UK reports that more gays are “being offered help to become straight” by clinical psychologists/psychiatrists.

It also looks like the shrinks are making available a service that has yet to be scientifically proven  effective, and a treatment to something that is not a disease.

Um, has anybody ever heard anyone going to the shrink and asking “Asian” treatments? Time and again we’ve shown that being gay isd actually partly genetic – something no amount of shrink-consulting can change.

Julie Goldman’s “Commitment Ceremony” Music Video (co starring Kate Mckinnon)

Posted by Lesfriendly.com - The lesbian blog | Posted in Gay Issues, Politics | Posted on 03-04-2009

This hilarious video of Commitment Ceremony between two lesbians was used for the She Likes Girls 3 (also co-directed by Julie Goldman). With lyrics like:

“Alright give me the salad, cuz I’m a lesbian and lesbian’s have to order salad’s….”

“Literally there are 50 million people fucking me in my vagina right now”

“You’ll buy the car and I’ll fix the tyre – cause am butch!”

“We’ll have a dog and a couple a kids, even tough it’ll be difficult to adopt your biological baby because techinicaly were not really a family in the eyes of the church and we should be seperatedddddddd”

You’re sure to laugh your guts out. Here’s the music video:

Hey gays, Why would you want to have a “marriage” anyway. It’s just a word, its just 1500 rights. Why you can’t you just settle with a commitment ceremony, it’s like the same thing, only completely discriminatory.

Graduation Blues: Where are the Proud Gay Parents?

7

Posted by Lesfriendly.com - The lesbian blog | Posted in Education, Gay Issues, Rocket Science, Web | Posted on 30-03-2009

I attended the elementary graduation of my brother yesterday. 167 graduates, 334 parents.

I had my eye out for a gay or lesbian couple who could be the proud parents of a graduate. I planned to approach them and shake their hand. I was already picturing the scene in my mind- surely there must be at least one?

Luca Has 2 Mommies - a lesbian couple acts as proud parents during Luca's graduation. Where were they?

Luca Has 2 Mommies - a lesbian couple acts as proud parents during Luca's graduation. Where were they?

Unfortunately, the program went on and I found that the statistics have failed me. Technically, 10% of the population should be gay, so doing all the calculations, there should be 16 gay couples in the graduation ceremony.

The Age Gap Factor in Lesbian Relationships

10

Posted by Lesfriendly.com - The lesbian blog | Posted in Gay Issues, Intimacy, Rocket Science | Posted on 09-03-2009

Often people frown upon May-December love affairs in heterosexual couples. But for lesbian and gay couples, do the same rules apply?

commitment until the end?

commitment until the end?

Scientifically speaking, being adverse to age gaps has its evolutionary purposes. Decreased child-bearing and child-rearing capabilities is obvious. However, when we look at gay couples, this argument doesn’t hold through as much, right?

Which International Bank is Prehistorically Politically Incorrect?

Posted by Lesfriendly.com - The lesbian blog | Posted in Gay Issues | Posted on 02-02-2009

Working with clients in the advertising industry has its perks. I get to post blind items, tee-hee-hee.

Anyway, it was some months ago when I was working on a session with an international bank on how to increase their credit card sales. The idea about specialized cards for targeted markets popped out.

It was then when the Assistant Vice President for Branding gave her brilliant idea:
